Ace Pole/Beach Timber Ace Pole/Beach Timber Blackshear, GA Blackshear, GA Full-time Full-time $50,000 - $85,000 a year $50,000 - $85,000 a year 9 days ago 9 days ago 9 days ago This position will be responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees at both locations, Alma and Blackshear.
The main duties and responsibilities for this position include:
Develop and provide ongoing safety training for employees on policies, regulations and procedures, to include new hire safety orientation.
Advise the company's administrative team on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations.
Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
Continually improve, evaluate, implement and maintain health and safety and policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with company, state , federal and local regulations.
Maintain accurate and current records in accordance with OSHA guidelines, etc.
Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections and audits are completed as necessary to comply with local, state and federal regulations.
Enforce compliance of regulatory requirements (OSHA, etc.
) including company policies and procedures.
Conduct regular unannounced walk through of work areas and talk to the personnel to identify their concerns.
Communicate safety and health issues to the workers in a manner to help them understand why they are important and addressing them is for their benefit.
Assist in emergency response and provide first aid guidance.
Manage facility workplace incident investigations to include responding to and reporting all incidents, incident investigations, determine root cause, establishing recurrence prevention plans, and follow through.
Recognize and reward input from employees that improve safety and health in the workplace.
Develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
Keep updated of safety environmental regulation changes that affect the organization.
Apply for permits as needed Purchase safety equipment, confirm that all employees have the appropriate certifications to operate heavy machinery and set standards for testing and maintenance to prevent dangerous malfunctions.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience as safety manager.
Ability to work with supervisors to gather data and implement policies as needed.
Problem Solving/Analysis.
Provide solutions to safety and health issues in a wide variety of areas.
Demonstrate successful leadership and guidance of health, safety management and interaction with all levels of management.
Comprehensive understanding of Quality Management System, health and safety management practices, principles and procedures.
In depth knowledge of OSHA standards.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or related field preferred, but not required.
Two to three plus years' experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety position in a manufacturing environment.
